wow.
I don't often link to random stuff I've come across, but this dragon sand sculpture is very impressive. Here's a photo from another angle where you can see the baby dragon the big one is cradling.

That's an artform I really don't understand, but thank you for the link -- I enjoyed clicking through them all, not just the dragon. I cannot imagine the amount of time it must have taken to create those!

I have a bit trouble to wrap my mind around this also, because to create such works and then have them gone so soon after, that would be hard for me. But then otoh, I think it isn't really an option for most people to make such large sculptures out of something permanent. Not just the cost for the material, but also where would you store them? So I guess with sand there's less hurdles. Well except for the obvious that I can even imagine how people manage to shape sand like that.
