kind of a minor point wrt SGA 4x09
No meta, but I know I'm not the only one whom it has been driving nuts trying to figure out what Sheppard is reading in this episode, and I finally managed.

It drove me crazy trying to figure out what comic Sheppard is reading, but the file I initially downloaded wasn't high-res enough, and I could just recognize an older (i.e. pre mid-2005) DC logo and the general layout. Then after I wasted almost three hours (!) on a brute force method last night, going through a DC cover database month by month from 2005 backwards until I got to the late 1990s but still had no success, I gave up on that with he suspicion tht this might not be a real comic, and downloaded a larger version of the episode.

And indeed I don't think this is an actual DC comic. However you can read the text, and apparently Sheppard is a fan of a comic called "Cosmic Capers", that on his cover has both a DC logo and something that looks a bit like the Spidey logo Marvel put on its comics for a while, but it could be something else, also I think I can read "Marvelous Comics Inc. -- Comix Presents -- Cosmic Capers" on the cover, but you can judge for yourself. I also made two screencaps where you can see part of the interior pages.

You are a goddess for going to all this work. And how cool that they invented their own comic!

Thank you!

It was driving me crazy that I didn't recognize the comic despite being a DC fan. I tried to forget about it, but just couldn't. But I'm glad to help sharing the knowledge. :D

OMG, this was driving me up a wall too!!! Last night started Googling all over the place, then had to forcibly just. let. it. go. But I'm so glad you were able to figure out it's not DC and to get a decent screencap. So it's some sorta made-up prop then?

*nod* I tried to let it go too, but couldn't. I thought that surely someone who'd seen it as hi-res must have posted that trivia somewhere, so I googled, and browsed through other reviews, and nothing came up, and then in desperation I went through the comic cover databases for hours and still nothing. And then I finally had enough and looked for a huge version of the ep, the kind I normally never download because my DSL is slow as far as DSL connections go. But yeah, I think it's a prop, though I don't quite get why they'd bother when they use a DC logo anyway (which was after all the only really recognizable thing when you watch it fuzzier). But the "Cosmic Capers" as title is quite funny, IMO.

Yeah I was wondering that too. Must be just props people getting their kicks. *g*

The art on the inside looks legit though.
